Let the Madness Begin...

This is my most cherished time of the year!

YES, it’s spring, and the weather is becoming balmy as well as the outer appearance of the Earth is fully clad in her buds, blossoms and blooms. Once again, the planet fills our senses with her fragrant aromas and pleasing aesthetics.

Furthermore, the calendar reveals my favored celebration; Easter is swiftly approaching.

But what is most prominent about this time of year is of course, the National Championship Basketball Tournament!!!

Let the madness begin!!!

I love, love, LOVE basketball and I am devoted to the competition as well as the idea that most of the nation stops and takes notice. I get a charge out of the heckling and first-rate joking we bestow to others as a result of their choice of favored teams because well, let’s face it, we all have allegiances and the event ties us all together with one clear winner.

Granted, my beloved Tar Heels have gotten lucky on a number of occasions however, this is a time when basket ball reflects life and I root for the underdog, well unless it is Carolina or Ohio State!

Of course, we fill in brackets…my son has completed numerous brackets in any combination he can come up with because well, we have a little bet going within our family! The heck with the big riches as a trophy; the winner in our home has bragging rights for the entire year AND the honors of planning a Week-End Getaway of our own choosing!!

How fun is that!?

I hope I win, I hope I win…

Oh I love it too!!!! I used to run a little "pool" in Maryland. This is the only time of year when I wish I wasn't tracked out! I have Ohio winning it all in my bracket.
And we have a Chickfila milkshake riding on our brackets.

Huge b-ball fan here as well! My problem with UNC is I can see them winning it all or losing early. That is why I always need to play multiple brackets. Enjoy the madness!

Sounds like you all have a lot of fun. I once lived in NC (Kinston) and my apt. landlady's granddaughter was named Brooke Carolina! My hubby is also a big fan so he can keep me posted on your team's progress. Have fun!

I hope you win, Tracy! I'm not a fan myself, but the gents in my house like to follow it and usually are cheering for Ohio State. Good luck to you! :D

Hey, I live in Indiana. No one loves basketball like the Hoosiers!! Bobby Knight and all that. I've learned to love basketball since moving here. We are just over the border from Chicago so I have to be a Bulls fan. My favorite college basketball team--The Boilermakers! As always, let the best team win.

Best,
Bonnie

Hi Trac, I LOVE March Madness ---and love it when the little schools (like Butler or Belmont) beat the big guys!!!!!

My favorite (Tennessee VOLUNTEERS--as you know) plays George's favorite, Michigan. SO--we'll be on opposite sides of that game.... ha ha ..... Since George is a Michigan fan, you must know that the school he HATES the most is Ohio State. SO--we won't be for them (NOR DUKE)... ha

Hugs,
Betsy

You can download the brackets. I worked for a fellow and when the game he wanted to watch was on, work was over. We all became March Madness friends.

Oh how I wish I loved basketball. There is such a dry spell for me between football and baseball. Since I don't have a team, I will pull for yours.

I never got into basketball the way I did football but I do understand and appreciate the excitement of the fans

I love that Angel-Kitty hid the shells in the closet!! I told Iza about it and she was impressed ;)

I like people who get a little crazy over sports. I'm not so much into basketball any more, but we do have the UW Huskies and the Gonzaga Bulldogs going to the dance. Wishing them well!

I hope you, I hope you win!

There, is that any good, do you think?

Sorry hate basketball. I seriously hate it. Can't stand the sound of sneakers on the hard court, can't stand the sound of the buzzer, can't stand looking at all the tattoos on young men arms. Nope, don't like it which makes it hard here at my house. Every tv in the house is turned to a game.

I'm not too keen on pro basketball, but I wish you and your team the best. I'm really looking forward to Spring and Summer for better weather.
