My Son~

I walk side-by-side with my child, fingers knotted with mine as we begin our journey: destination unknown.
He squeezes my fingers to notify me of his existence, just in case I’ve forgotten.
We connect with our eyes and engage in an exchange of words-their presence more essential than their meaning.
In that little boy voice he asks, ‘NeeNee, do you love me?’ a question that the answer is already well-known—
‘Yes, my son, I love you more than you will ever know.’ I speak, as a grin glides across his sweet little face and his eyes dance with delight.

Son, you outgrew my lap, but never my heart. ~Author Unknown

My boys are men now and stand 6'4 and 6'5. They are still my little boys. Your son seems to have such a fine spirit. Love his smile. Have a good weekend, Tracy. So glad Ethan is doing well.

I want to say he's adorable but he probably would rather hear "handsome"--and he is. My two boys are young men now. They will always be my sweet little ones in my heart.

Best,
Bonnie

Oh how true this is! Even when they are big strong men, I see my sons as the little boys they were. I miss those days...

Your son if a fine looking boy he will grow to be a fine and handsome young man.
As a mother to a son - your words rang true with me as well. No matter how old they get they are always are little boys.

Hugs,

What a great poem! I love the photo too!
Have you ever read the book "Love You Forever"
I read that with all three of my boys - and have threatened to be the mom who drives over in the dark of night and climbs up a ladder into my grown up sons room to rock and sing: I love you forever, I like you for always, as long as I am living, my baby you'll be.

I still sing and text them the words (they are 19, 18, and 14. An they still give me the little sly grin - that deep inside they needed to hear that.
