I am smitten!

Okay, I admit…I am smitten!

Yes folk, ME- a middle aged woman is crooning over Scotty McCreery, a finalist on American Idol from Garner, North Carolina; twenty or so minutes from where I reside.

Although I’ve never tuned into American Idol except as a stepping stone to a different program, I have been swept up in the ‘Scotty Mania!’

Seriously, how can you not? His deep voice is smooth and comforting for his seventeen years and he’s such a down-home southern kid who is a pitcher on his baseball team, sings with his school’s performing choir as well as his church youth choir and is an honor student.

Seriously, what is there not to like? . . . Perhaps the fact that he’s a North Carolina State fan? Nah, that wouldn’t even deter me!

I’ve never been a country music enthusiast but when Scotty sings twang, I like it!! More than that, he’s cute with clean cut hair and an impish smile, he’s humble and thankful and he professes his Christian faith openly and allows the cross he wears around his neck to guide and direct his voyage through the popular show based in Los Angelos, California.

So Tuesday, when voting is open to the public, I will be like thousands of fanatical individuals casting their choice, and calling for Scotty; he’s in it to win it!

. . . There couldn’t be a more deserving candidate! Even if I am a middle aged woman!

Pitchy in a couple of places and he jumped in before he was supposed to once, but overall, a good performance. A great country voice.

What do you think, Tracy, could I replace Kara? Or is she already gone? I missed this entire season, the first time in many years.

I like his unwillingness to drop his deep beliefs for show biz. It's important that he not lose himself in others expectations. I'm glad you posted a video so I could hear/see him perform.

I love scotty too! But my kids love Lauren, so we can't wait to watch on tuesday.

Yep, I am with you. He is cute an love that voice. Not a big fan of the show but I have watched Scotty sing on you-tube.

So maybe I'll get my Vickie to watch and vote.

I have an award for you - - - Please accept it. I will be honored.
Who says you cannot have a crush on a singer or even a young one at that. It is only a CRUSH !

I couldn't agree less!!

I know he will be huge in the country market!
This is why I couldn't be a judge. He's a one trick pony. No real talent in range and sometimes so pitchy. But the little girls who vote love him. so he'll be a star.

I had to laugh at just how polar opposites we are on this....or I should say I am from the rest of the female audience.
He gives me the creeps. The cocky way he acts, the sleazy way he holds the mic and will lear at the girls screaming at him. ooooh ick.

But he's got that somethin' that alludes me because rational women like yourself LOVE him.
I think for sure he will beat Lauren.

I quit watching when I realized the outcome after James left.

I've never watched American Idol, but I do respect and appreciate anyone (especially a teenager) who's not afraid to show his faith!

I've only ever watched the very ending of American Idol because it's the time of year my sisters and I have our twice yearly visit. They watch it and are very nice to catch me up. They always suggest that I start from the beginning but so far, haven't persuaded me. They are arriving this weeks so I'll become familiar with Scott.

Best,
Bonnie

Of course, you know Lauren is from GA!!!!! I will admit I enjoy hearing Scotty sing though. He reminds me of George Strait, whom I have a crush on as an old, gray haired lady!!!!! It should be fun to watch!

I could have written this too. He is just too cute for words and I admire his life and his parents. The only downside to this is that he will never be able to come home again, in the same way, never play on that team, never sing in his choir again. He will be of the world now, not of Garner, and it's our loss as well as our gain!

Sorry, he looks too much like one of my son's friends...

He's mine!!! LOL!
Seriously, I think he's great too--since his audition. I can see him performing on the Country Music Awards already.
Plus, he's so nice!! I would love to have him as as a son-in-law.

Hi Girlie, We went to the Smokies today... Had a great time!!!!!

I think both Idols are really good and both will have great careers. I've heard more people say that Scotty will win though. He has such a SMOOTH voice... He's got a great future.

I don't know... ever since Simon left I just can't get into American Idol. He was simply the 'loved to hate him' guy don't you think? ;)

Hope you are having a lovely week Tracy!

Well, I feel terrible as I have not followed American Idol at all this year. Oy! I've heard that it's a better season than last year. :)

Hope you are well. Hugs

I haven't been following IDOL, but I have seen another vid of him. Great, fab voice! Wow, I can't believe he's only 17. Cool that he's sticking to his faith, too. :)

I am with you and behind him 100%. The catch is they want another girl winner. Reasonably sure, Lauren will be the one.
