"Q" is for Quiet...

perceptions + quotes + reality =

A to Z Challenge~

…the soft whirring of a fan…
…a brook tripping over stones…

...a bird singing his tune...
…the reeds gently swaying in the breeze…
…paint brushes dancing across the canvas…
…tears streaming down my face…
…a candle glowing in a room…
…gentle rains trickling off the trees…
…an eagle in majestic flight…
…kittens purring by my side…
…the humming of the light welcoming me home…
…these are the things that are..
Quiet

“In quiet moments when you think about it, you recognize what is critically important in life and what isn’t. Be wise and don’t let good things crowd out those that are essential.”

By Elder Richard G. Scott

That's lovely...beautiful in fact. It
invokes such peace. But I hope tears aren't streaming down your face :-(

Beautiful imagery. They each embody quiet and just reading them in this form puts one into a tranquil frame of mind.

"Quiet" is the word for many bloggers today. It's appropriate as we all, in solitude, travel thought the a-z link list. Very nice.

I love quiet things, but don't seem to get enough. Maybe if I spent some time in the library...

Ah, quiet. I love it! I love it in the early morning and late at night when things settle down, it's dark, and all you can hear are birds (in the morning) or the creaks of the house and soft sounds of kitties moving.

I love the images in the your poem. The bird photo is stunning--I love birds, though I don't know how to identify a lot of them.

Lovely poem and lovely things in it. I like the way you describe the light. It does seem like the light hums when it is very quite doesn't it!

Lovely images - but I live on my own, and sometimes get too much 'quiet'.

Very lovely poem...And the image is so nice too.

I did a Workshop several years ago on the Spiritual Disciplines.

Silence and Solitude are two that are very powerful disciplines, and not practiced very much in our society.

Hi Tracy, I have learned alot about being 'quiet' from my husband --who can be a man with few words at times...

I used to have the radio and/or TV on in almost every room. Of course, at that time, I lived alone --and needed the 'company'... These days, sometimes the radio and/or TV is never even on at all... We enjoy the quiet...

We don't use AC much in the summer--but we do have lots of rotating fans all throughout the home.... I love sleeping with the sound of a fan whirling....

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
