Photo Friday...

Long story short:  I say my husband forgot my birthday because he bought me a new Nikon SLR3100 camera but since he gave it to me nine days prior to my actual day and then made no mention of any such greeting on the actual day, well, you could conclude he forgot it, right? That morning, I hung onto every minute until he departed for work; I waited for coffee in bed? Perhaps the newspaper to go with it? Maybe even a simple wish or a kiss?
Nope, nothing…my husband of fifteen years had forgotten my birthday! So I sent an e-mail to his work on sweet muted purple paper with the glow of candles and plastered the words, ‘Happy Birthday to me!’ across the page.
He immediately responded and apologized profusely and although I’ll forever tease him about 'forgetting my birthday!', he’s right, he gave me a gift I’ve always wanted…now to learn how to use it.
The following photos are my trial and error examples:

My hubby and I have been married sixteen years and he is good sometimes about remembering my birthday but sometimes needs the gentle reminder.

That was a great gift, nice shots.

I love your "Life's journey" quote on your sidebar.

Kenju, thanks...it has been fun learning!

Teresa, Hurricane is our golden and oh my gosh, he is a lovely lad!

Yolanda, Thanks for stopping by. I don't know how lucky I am, but certainly blessed!

Squirrel Queen, I appreciate the visit :) I guess it is time for gentle reminders, oh well!
I'm definitely NOT working on the well preserved body!

Great shots but greater captions. Good job.
"Forclosure" got me.
Hay, he did get you a cool gift. If he had not done that, then bring out the cold shoulder.
Since he did get the camera, warm up to the dude, he is a keeper.

I like all your shots, you captured some nice emotion with the dog and girl.It just takes practice as anything does, and you will get the feel of that camera like it is an extension of your mind and hand. I got a new one October 5th(my B-day present to myself) and have shot 800 on it. Shoot a lot, keep a few.It is fun to shoot with another and compare.

Patti, thanks Dear! yeah it is a cool gift and he is definitely a keeper :)

Out on the Prairie, I aspire to be like you...we were out yesterday and my camera never left my neck. 'Keep a few' is difficult for me but I'll work on it.
Hey, good for you for getting the camera for yourself! I like that mentality!

You. Got. A. Nikon. I'm so jealous! Those are some gorgeous pics, I'd say you don't need tips.

Thanks for stopping by and I saw that you're a special ed teacher. I admire you. We have children who come through our classes who have undiagnosed issues and there are days when it's challenging.

The reward is seeing them succeed and I wouldn't trade it. I teach three year olds....

Nice to meet you and I'm now following!

thanks for commenting on my blog...I love my camera too-a christmas gift from hubby. His memory is very good but then I remind him all the time of birthdays-his, mine and his daughters. lol!

Yes, Word crafter, I did and I am thrilled! I know it will take time with practice, but I'm a perfectionist; what can I say?

Well, you teach three year olds which is such a crucial phase of their education. Good for you! Unfortunately, it can make or break certain children. I remember those days of challenge when my son was in pre-school...
so glad to make your aquaintence and I'll be seeing you for sure :)

Thanks Lin for stopping by. I enjoyed your site and have enjoyed meeting new talented individuals...it's been awesome!
