Poetry of Old...

October, 1979

Sometimes I feel like
a piece of paper-
one side written on
then carefully folded
again and again and again
with words safely concealed
on the inside.
But, I'm not so much
like a piece of paper
because I can't be unfolded
as such so that all the
thoughts and feelings inside
are as easily revealed.

Beautiful Tracy... You have so much TALENT.... Your poem really made me think... How do we get our feelings out? As you said, it's not as easy as unfolding a piece of paper. We need to unwrap ourselves from the inside out... That's not so easy, is it??????

Hugs,
Betsy

Now those are deep thoughts! I think my paper is a bit too open! LOL

I know my paper is equally as open. It is so hard sometimes to remember to keep in better closed. Wonderful.

This is very creative. But I think you are more like a blossoming flower, whose petals keep opening up for us to continue to see your creativity, sweetness, talent, and beauty.

The fact that you have a poem you wrote from 1979 is amazing to me. The teenage angst years (I'm guessing you were a teen when you wrote this) are filled with thoughts like this. You captured that feeling very well. :)

Seriously awesome. Reflecting back sometimes allows us to see exactly how that paper unfolded. I'd say you unfolded without a wrinkle :)

Really well said. Like Jules said, you have unfolded nicely and are continuing to do so.

Beautiful and intriguing thoughts Tracy! Sometimes folded within those pieces of paper are secrets hidden and untold.

Very nice, it's nice that you have kept this. i let so many go, not caring for them as well or thinking I could do better. Thanks for the nice input also!

Thanks so much for your lovely comment...please come and visit anytime!
Just wanted to clarify...Brian was a little boy I knew when I was about 12 years old... just a little boy with a sunny smile that used to love to play in the sandbox. He would have been a 40 year old man had he lived...
You are such a special writer and I am so happy to see your posts pop up on my dashboard.
Blessings!

Hi Tracy,
I like this poem. your writing is so deep and thoughtful, the poem below about the little girl and the swing, just makes me cry. so many dear little ones are taken from us - it's too much to comprehend.
on a lighter note, so glad you like the little girl hugging the snowman! I am thinking about making it a card!
enjoy this friday!

Incredibly simple, incredibly deep. Bravo! Or since this deals with words written on paper, perhaps ink-readable-y simple and deep.

That's a wonderful poem, and very inspiring for the mind to ponder.

Oh Tracy, a meme is a specific theme that repeats every week, or month. Usual the host decides on a theme, such as yellow for Monday, blue Monday, or Ruby Tuesday, etc..

I hope you can join us for Thursday Two Questions next week. Just post your two questions on your blog, then go link your post at SelfSagacity.com either on Wed. night or Thurs.
