Awards...

For me?

Making Smiles on Face Award:
Stop by and see Kittie, she is a sweetheart! and what a pretty award! I will display it proudly~

Goodness Gracious! My head will get so big with receiving these awards this past week; I may not fit through the door! What I DO know for certain- it is NOT a symptom of the bloating related to menopause :)

Anyway, the Stylish Blogger Award was presented to me by Tammy at http://tnnature.blogspot.com/
and also by Erin at http://oneyeartowrite.blogspot.com/2011/01/stylish-blogger-award.html
so please go check out their fantastic blogs. Great people that you will enjoy as much as I do!

The first part of the directions is as follows: Thank the individual/s that gave me the award and then proceed to tell 7 things about myself that you wouldn’t normally know through my blog. Oh Geez Louise, this should be fun!

1.) I do not know my left from my right nor can I read a map. So the basic bottom line is do not risk getting into a car with me if I don’t know where I’m going and/or you plan to give me directions.

2.) I attended a school with Kindergarten through 12th grade in one building surrounded by fields.

3.) I do not like to get dirty! I don’t wash dishes without rubber gloves, I don’t touch meat loaf or anything else that is ooey or gooey; the first time my husband saw me make turkey burgers I had plastic baggies on my hands and he STILL married me!

4.) My underclothes have to match what it is I am wearing. I go to great lengths to make sure this happens. So if you ever see me face to face, I know you’ll be wondering what color my underwear happen to be.

5.) I have received only one speeding ticket in my entire life and have managed to charm my way out of perhaps 15 or so times I’ve been stopped!

6.) I have social phobia…I DO NOT like crowds or gatherings which is why I go to the store very early in the morning if I have to and decline all invitations to parties.

7.) I love thunderstorms and the sound of rain.

Now the second part of receiving these awards is to choose 15 blogs that are worthy of this award, but I cannot do that because I don’t follow ANY blog that is NOT worthy of these honors. I am very choosey who I allow in my life so if you are on the uhhh, let’s see, the LEFT, yeah, that’s my left… then consider yourself worthy of these distinguished awards.

I spent an entire summer in tents and when I finally got home, the first rain had me on edge. I lost two tents over that time, once laying by the doorway trying to hold it down with the wind lifting me off the ground. There was a waterspout less than a quarter mile away. What did I learn?Always have a spare set of bedding and clothes in the van. I still like to camp, in nice weather, and even go out during the winter.

Very nice, Tracy... Congrats!!!!! I used to participate in all of that stuff --but then I quit. I would never want to pick and choose blogs from my list. You did the right thing by not choosing I think.

Funny about the underwear... Funny also about wearing rubber gloves when you put your clothes in the washing machine... Do you have your underwear drawer all neat and color-coded??? ha ha

I love hearing the rain also.... SO soothing.
Hugs,
Betsy

First, congrats on the head swelling awards but they are so deserved. :)

Second, sounds like we would have REAL road trip if we let you drive, yeehaw! I spit coffee on the turkey burgers and I just crowds at the grocery.

Rain on a tin roof.... life doesn't get much better :)

Congradulations on all your awards, they are well deserved! If you ask me, we need a trophy just for getting through menopause! We are kindred spirits!!! I'm with you on dirt and ooey gooey, I have a germ and raw meat phobia. I cannot touch anything after handling raw meat without washing my hands many times. When I buy it in the store, I usr a folded up plastic grocery bag to touch it, and manage to scan and bag it without ever touching it!! I know the other customers think I'm crazy!! Meatballs? Meatloaf? I won't even MAKE them!

You are a trip! I don't know how you stop from getting messy with raising a boy (much less being married to one!) You reminded me of my sister who couldn't tell directions to save her life (she still tries to tell which way is east by 'sensing' which way the basement door was on our childhood home - which is impossible!) Anyway, congrats on BOTH awards! You are a bright spot and a great blogger and a wonderful web friend! :)

Congratulations, I think you deserve the awards. I love the rain and thunderstorms too! My girls don't though, so it makes it really hard to enjoy them in peace. And I will check out those other blogs. Have a great day!

Congrads to you!
I too love not only the sound of rain but thunder too. Love to curl under the covers and listen, and be thankful that I am safe and warm.

I think you and I got together because of our hermit-like qualities. :)

I enjoyed learning more about you, Tracy. We may not be alike in all respects, but I am glad to have "met" you. You are a sweet and intelligent lady.

Congratulations, Tracy! This was a fun post to read. I'm not a big fan of crowds either. I can go out in them, but I don't like to if I don't have to.
Rain on the roof--yes, a lovely peaceful sound. :)

Congrats on the award, and thanks for passing it on to ME amd all the others on your blog list!
I have not followed your blog very long, so it was very interesting to get to know more about you.

I'm not big on crowds either, but I live in the city, so I have to on most occasions. I don't like parties that are huge and I don't really know everyone. If it is a festival where there are lots of crowds, I'll pass. I like small groups of folks better.

Wow! I'm honored that you "followed" me today! Glad you stopped in by the Duck and Wheel. :)

Congrats on the award and thanks for the interesting seven. Except for 1,3 and 4 we could have been separated at birth.
I had a friend with the left/right thing. Since she wore a watch, we learned to say "turn watch or turn bare". Still it was scary driving with her.

congrats on your awards

Congrats on your awards. I feel you deserve them both but like you I could not pick anyone certain blog so I do what you did. hahaha
Loved reading your seven things though. Wow that is something about left and right. Had to laugh about the hubby seeing you making the dish before you were married with bags on your hands. hahaha.
Glad I stopped by to thank you for your lovely comment about loosing my dear sweet Forrest. I will miss her for sure.
Have a great weekend
Love
Maggie

Hi Tracy,

Im returning the compliment with a visit. Thanks for dropping by. Congratulations on the awards.

I like a lot of the same authors you do and also
totally identify with 1, 3 and 6 on your list. Crumbing anything is my worst nightmare!

Feel free to do another visit any time you like.
